Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver
According to a news report from The Hollywood Reporter, the 80’s icon, MacGyver is set to be made into a feature film.
Raffaella De Laurentiis, daughter of Dino De Laurentiis, is producing the film hrough her Raffaella Prods. company along with Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff and Dino De Laurentiis as exec producer and will be released through New Line Cinema.
No writer is attached, but the studio hopes to find a script that can acknowledge how the concept has staked a place into pop culture yet still makes for a serious and fun adventure movie.
“We think we’re a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise,” said New Line’s Richard Brener, who will oversee with Sam Brown and Walter Hamada.

if they make MacGyver a movie, they better get Richard Dean Anderson to reprise the role, otherwise it will bomb. i know i won’t go and and see it, if the real Mac is not in it. iv’e ben a huge fan since i was 10, now i’m 34. is this true or rumer? if so rda better play MacGyver! best actor ever and forever RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON!!!!!!!!

Well if they wanna make a macgyver movie then should find out if they can get macgyver to play in it first … after all There is only one mac ever … Brad pitt or any other hot actor just isn’t macgyver. I’m not interested in a wanna-be macgyver movie. I will not support such movie because i’ve been hoping the real mac would do a movie someday, and if a wanna-be makes the idea copyright that would banish my hopes forever.

bit of luck they can get richard to do mac but also in season 7 the stringer where he finds out he has a son…they need to include this as well…so they can make a new seris like mac get older moving up to grandfathers cabin to get away from the badies and let his son take over the reines
another story line is phoenic foundation becomes taken over, legally updated company by being cia fbi and other authorities boss still keep phoenics foundation…
newer situations like a combination of snakes on a plane, outbreak, day after tomorrow, bourne idenity, etc….take elements from each of theese and many more and we should get one hell of a macgyver movie…. this some of my ideas

great news! but they better make sure that RDA plays McGyver. No other actor will fit the role. MABUHAY! – from Philippines
