As part of the promotion for their first album, The Phoenix Foundation, a tribute band who write and sing songs based on episodes from the 80’s and 90’s hit TV show MacGyver, asked fans of the show to submit ideas for the albums name with the winner receiving an autographed copy of the album along with a life-time pass to all of the bands concerts and their name credited in the CD booklet.
“The competition received 107 entries.” lead guitarist Kjetil Friestad confirmed, “and let me tell you … people out there really had the 4 of us smiling. All those great ideas !!”.
3 of the 107 entrants submitted the name “Troubleshooter” which the band eventually decided as the winning name. “We all loved it – and we hope everyone else will too.” Friestand said. The winning entries came from Louise Owen, Diane Carroll, and Mario Vandermeulen. All 3 will receive prizes once the CD’s have been completed.
The “Troubleshooter” album is set to be officially released on October 10, 2010.
